We all struggle to “fit” in the standards of this world and for acceptance from others. Many teens believe the lies from media poured on them in magazines, and TV. They look to celebrities to see how to dress, talk, and act. Others look to their peers to fill the emptiness they feel from not really knowing who they really are on the inside as a person. They give in to the temptations of this world rather than seeing who they are and who they have been created to be in Christ.
So often we are afraid to be unique especially around friends or older people. God is clearly and boldly telling us to stand up and speak out!, saying, “Don’t say your too young for you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you.”
God tells us that we “must go.” That’s an absolute…it’s a command. He goes on to tell us…”and don’t be afraid of the people, for I will be with you and will protect you.” That’s a promise. He promises to protect and be with us wherever He sends us. Do not let anyone think less of you because you are young(1 Timothy 4:12). We are commanded to “go” and speak out about our faith to all people, young or old, saved or unsaved.
We have such an incredible purpose to tell people about our faith while we are still young. Don’t be ashamed of Who you serve. People are in need of the Savior. Don’t sit back and wait. Go now, Stand now! You are here to fight for God’s kingdom and give it all you have. Be strong and courageous. Don’t back down. Lets be the generation to shake the world up for Him!!
I have a deep passion for Jesus and desire to inspire a valued generation to know Him. My heart is so heavy for my generation living in today’s culture. In a world with so much negativity, I am here to stand up and encourage people to live a life glorifying God.
It is my heart’s desire to share with them the love of Jesus.
I encourage others to:
-Stop obsessing over outward appearance and start focusing on your inward beauty.
-Let go of trying to fit in with society and begin to live a bold life for Jesus.
-Remain Pure! Even when temptation is all around.
-Stop determining your worth by what people say and start to know your value in Jesus.
-Stop seeking your value in this world, and to find your identity in the One Who
has created you.
Fun Facts About ME:
~I am a normal girl.
~I shop on the clearance rack.
~I love Pinterest and cry at the end of the Notebook every time.
~ I love to clean & do lawn work..Ok, maybe that’s not normal:)
~I have a tendency of opening text messages, replying in my mind and forget to actually text back.
~I love to write songs in my bedroom and sing them to my sister even if they aren’t finished.
~I live in New Jersey with my parents, twin brothers, sister and two cats, and yes Musick is really my last name.
~I was a student in public school until 4th grade, then I was homeschooled until I graduated High School. I truly believe the experience of once being in a public school setting, as well as being the “home schooled kid” has given me the ability to connect to teens from both walks of life. I’ve realized that people in public school, private school, Christian school and home school all are dealing with the same insecurities, broken hearts and trials.
~I love to write songs to encourage people and let them know they are not alone. All of my songs are inspired by my personal trials, or other events I have witnessed my friends/family go through. I write from moments of brokenness, rejection, insecurities, struggles, happiness, and victories, but in the end they all point to Jesus.
When I started writing for the album, Perfectly You, I prayed that God would put words on my heart to encourage my generation in their faith. All of the songs on the album are topics that are close to my heart. They are topics that I know many of us are dealing with each day: self-image, self-worth, purity, bullying, the future…as well as many other important topics. I pray that God uses this music as an instrument to inspire a generation to become on fire for Jesus. I am here, taking a stand for Christ and to show my generation that they can too!” ......Read More about Chelsea, CLICK HERE
For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
1 Timothy 4:12
Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.
The story behind the single and why I chose the title “Perfectly You”
Have you ever looked in the mirror and thought, “Why do I have to look this way?”, “I need to lose weight, I want to be skinnier, I wish I could be better at playing sports, I wanted to be thinner, have prettier hair, perfect teeth, flawless skin….. I didn’t want to look like me. I had standards in my mind of what I thought was pretty at the time, because that’s what the world accepted. God used a huge trial in my life to show me just how beautiful I really am to Him.
I always thought that I had to look perfect because I sing and meet new people. That all changed in the summer of 2011. I was on the first season of Simon Cowell XFactor. I made it on the show as a contesant.I traveled to California for the show and after I returned home, I broke out with terrible acne. It wasn’t just a normal pimple… Read more here
